About

Teaching Unity 3D and C# for HoloLens and Vive, at Kosen Institute in Kagoshima, Japan, 2017.

Joel Dittrich AB

I’m an independent XR / Web Developer, Technical Artist, and Adjunct Instructor / Lecturer, based in Stockholm with second base in Berlin.

I work with visualization and immersive experiences, i.e. (prototyping) virtual and augmented / mixed reality, web / digital, animation / projection mapping, lights (IoT), AI, and general technical direction.

I teach at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design, where I’m employed 50% of full-time, at the Graphic Design & Illustration programme, Department of Design, Interior Architecture and Visual Communication.

I have +22 years of full-time creative-technical experience, running my own company for +13 years. I’m available globally, remote and on location!

Background

2019 – 2020 // I was a full-time contractor in Stockholm and Paris, working as Lead Developer, Technical Artist and Technical Director, focusing on 3D animation and mixed reality by integrating HoloLens, lights (IoT) and projection mapping (projected AR), to tell a story in an engaging way.

2008 – 2018 // I was freelancing and teaching 50-50, at universities in Sweden, Germany, Japan, China, Taiwan and USA. I also worked in Canada, France, and Italy. I was employed part-time as Associate Professor / Senior Lecturer.

2010 // I studied The Fourth Dimension: Video, Space and The Broken Screen at School of Visual Arts, and Abstracting the Figure at Parsons, both in New York City.

2004 – 2009 // I’m educated at Konstfack University in Stockholm, where I studied the Teacher Program in Art, Design and Visual Culture.

1998 – 2020 // I have independently studied books and online courses extensively, which is what really gives me a unique skill set with an edge!
