Teaching Unity 3D and C# for HoloLens and Vive, at Kosen in Kagoshima, Japan, 2017.

Joel Dittrich AB

I’m a Software Developer, Technical Artist, and Adjunct Instructor/Lecturer.

I work with 3D visualization and immersive experiences, i. e. virtual reality and augmented/mixed reality, animation and projection mapping, interactive A/V installations, artificial intelligence, and general technical direction.

I teach at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design, where I’m employed 50% of full-time, at the department of Design, Interior Architecture and Visual Communication.

I have +23 years of full-time creative-technical experience, running my own company for +13 years. I am based in Stockholm and Berlin, but travel the world frequently for work and play. I am available globally, remote and on location!

2019 – 2020 I was a full-time contractor, as Lead Software Developer and Technical Artist/Director, focusing on projection mapping, and mixed reality with HoloLens.

2008 – 2018 I was freelancing and teaching 50/50, at universities in Sweden, Germany, Japan, China, Taiwan, and USA. I also worked in Canada, France, and Italy. I was employed part-time as Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer.

I’m educated at Konstfack University in Stockholm, Sweden, where I studied the Teacher Program in Art, Design and Visual Culture (2004 – 2009). I also studied The Fourth Dimension: Video, Space and The Broken Screen, at School of Visual Arts, and Abstracting the Figure, at Parsons, both in New York City (2010).

I have independently studied books and online courses extensively (1998 – 2020), which is what really gives me an edge!
