HELLO, MY NAME IS JOEL DITTRICH
I am working in an interdisciplinary approach, with projects ranging from fine art, to new media performance and installation. Most of the time that means multi channel video projections mixed/modified/created in real time and in sync with audio/music. I collaborate with other artists and musicians or simultaneously perform my own noise, sonic landscapes and techno.
Besides my own audio visual art I take on assignments on freelance basis such as filming, editing, motion graphics, Wordpress websites, photography, graphic design and teaching these subjects. I have a background in painting and revive this when inspiration hits me. I run my own firm and I am available for freelance projects as well as lecturing and workshops. Originally I am based in Stockholm, but today I spend about 75% of my time in Berlin, where I do most of my studio work. I also fly to Sweden and other countries every month to do work.
I am educated at Konstfack University College of Arts Crafts in and Design. I studied the Teacher Program on Art, Design and Visual Culture and did my diploma work on live visuals/VJing. I also studied Theories, Methods and Practices, a post graduate course on art theory and the history of ideas. Recently I studied a course called The Fourth Dimension: Video, Space and The Broken Screen, at School of Visual Arts, New York City.
Starting august 2011 I teach courses on artistic development, at the bachelor program of Audio Visual Production at Högskolan Dalarna University.
